On a daily basis, I explore many different AI tools for educational purpose.

The tool I am presenting in this article is one of many interesting findings I encounter on the way.

Say goodbye to Google and hello to Ed.Tools 👋

Most educators use Google when looking for specific edtech tools to implement them in classroom.

After reading this article, that may not be the case with you.

Meet the web app ed.tools, which is an AI-powered search engine for educational software.

In this article, I will provide a step-by-step guide on how to use it effectively and get the best results quickly.

On the homepage of the website, you will find a search bar where you can input what you want to achieve.

Similar to other AI tools, the quality of your prompt will determine the quality of the output.

By writing a precise and focused prompt, you will be able to find the right tool for your needs.

When expressing what are you searching for, it is recommended to use formal language that is clear and precise.

The image below provides several examples of effective prompts to consider.

If you do not write a clear prompt and the engine is unable to provide a solution, it will try to assist you and guide you to create a better one.

It may also offer some tools at this point, but you can continue search by typing additional message.

As you can see on the image below, I typed "AI music composing" without providing specific clarification, and I was asked to provide more details.

After entering a well-designed prompt, you will be presented with a few solutions that come with detailed descriptions.

In the example below, I have found two apps that can be used as collaborative mind mapping tools for brainstorming with my students.

This included information can help you determine if the app is right for you. The information covers the following points:

  • App description

  • Key features for teachers

  • Potential classroom applications

  • Pricing

If you decide to continue exploring the app, click on "Visit Website" to go to the official app website.

There, you can create an account and start using the app.
